Poaching Essay

I picked the topic of poaching because I have an interest in animals and I don't think it is lawful for people to illegally hunt endangered animals. I learned a lot more about poaching than I knew before. Most people don't know what poaching is and what the terrible results can be: animal extinction. Yet some people just don't care.

Most of the class knew a lot about poaching, and some of them were pretty concerned about the topic. For example, on the first question, 86.7 of the grade knew what poaching was. Based on the results, I would say every 2 out of 3 people in the 5th grade knows and cares about the subject of poaching. The other 1 person either does not know as much, or doesn't care.

There isn't that much poaching in the U.S., so that's a sign we're getting better. But there are still thosands of people out there who hunt protected animals for their living. What I think we can do is write to the other countries and try to convince them to enforcde their laws better. The other thing is we could pray for the people who choose to violate this law. I had fun with this, and I hope everyone else did too.

Junction

Aquatic Biology was probably my favorite subject we studied at Junction because insects and other things most people don't like, like snakes, I find interesting. I loved capturing and looking at the macroinvertibrates under the microscopes. I'd love to do this again sometime and create an 'aquarium' with the catches. It would be fun to see how the macroinvertebrates lived, ate, stuff like that. Thanks Mrs. Bell!

Machines

Wow! I didn't know there were so many simple and compound machines! I also didn't know there could be so many simple machines in one compound machine. I'm not the brightest on simple and compound machines, so that was a fun and learning experience.

My Pioneer Plant

The Gorse is a shrub that can grow to a height of 5 feet very quickly. The Gorse shrub lives on the ground in woodland garden. It reproduces by flowers, which are in bloom all year. It’s a nitrogen-fixing plant that is noted to attract pollinators such as bees, beetles, and flies. The plant prefers sandy, loamy, or clay soils, and can grow in very acidic soil. Some uses from the plant’s parts are: a treatment for scarlet fever, tea from the shoots tips, a beautiful yellow dye is made from it, and it’s flower buds are used as capers in salads.

Me, TJ

Hi, I'm Tj. I go to a christian school in Texas. I love cats, my family, and God. I like to draw, read, play sports, video games, and build things. My favorite colors are orange and blue. I play B-ball on the Warriors with some of my friends, who go to my school.

This Christmas I will probably stay at home and spend time with my family. What I want for Christmas is a silver Ipod Nano, a docking station and money, I guess. I might also want a couple of games for my DS. This year we probably have the prettiest tree I can remember.

All about me, Tj

Hi, I'm Tj. I go to a christian school in Texas. My favorite colors are blue and orange. My favorite movies are Prince Caspian and Kung - Fu Panda. My favorite things to do are to play sports, video games, build things, draw, read, and play with cats. I love God and my family very, very, very, very, very, much!
This Christmas I will most likely stay home and spend time with my family. This Christmas I want an Ipod nano, and nothing really else. I could just get money, but what do you think?
